Brig. (R) Azam Khan Effendi was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in 1972. He won several awards during flood relief operations, including Tamgha-e-Basalat. During service in the Army, he had the opportunity to serve on critical appointments. Brig Effendi retired from the Army in 2002 as a graduate of Pakistan and Japanese Command and Staff Colleges.
He also holds other appointments, including Global Advisor to the Taleem Foundation, National Peace Committee for Inter-faith Harmony, Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Cuba Friendship Society and Pakistan Afghanistan Peace Stability and Prosperity Process, and Chairman of MAS Media Network.
